Immigration

Ellis Island: Stronger Standards than Modern Democrats

Quick History:

Ellis Island was created in 1892 to enable organized, systematic, and purposeful immigration.

Currently, 40% of adults in the United States can trace at least one ancestor back to Ellis Island.

For decades, Ellis Island was the portal into America, allowing people of all backgrounds to fight for the American dream.

Often called the Island of Hope, Ellis Island vetted over 12 million immigrants into the United States over a span of 62 years.

At the port, families went through medical, legal, and psychological evaluations to ensure mental stability, a low risk of spreading infectious disease, and the ability to contribute to the United States of America.

Ellis Island closed it’s doors over 70 years ago.

Modern Democrats: Open Borders, Closed Eyes

Under Democratic leaders, immigration policies have become weaker than those enforced by our ancestors at Ellis Island over 133 years ago.

Under the Liberal Biden Administration, over +10 million immigrants entered the United States without medical, legal, or psychiatric evaluations.

They simply crossed the border.

Illegal immigrants now account for +3.5% of the United States population.

In just four years, liberal policies allowed as many unvetted immigrants to enter the United States as Ellis Island processed over 62 years.

Our ancestors understood the dire consequences of unregulated immigration. Yet modern Democrats do not apply those same standards.

The bottom line: Americans have been exposed to the risks of +10 million unvetted individuals entering the country—without any formal evaluations or requirements.

We can all agree: immigration is the backbone of America. But chaotic, dangerous, and unorganized Liberal immigration policies have led to the deaths of multiple Americans.

Victims of Unvetted Immigration: (2021-2025)

  • Laken Riley (22): A nursing student murdered while jogging in February 2024 by Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.

  • Kayla Hamilton (20): An autistic woman raped and murdered in July 2022 by MS-13 gang member Walter Martinez, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador.

  • Rachel Morin (37): A Maryland mother of five, raped and murdered in August 2023. Victor Martinez-Hernandez, an illegal immigrant, was convicted in 2025.

  • Maria Gonzalez (11): Assaulted and murdered in Texas, August 2023. Juan Carlos Garcia Rodriguez, an illegal immigrant.

  • Ruby Garcia (25): Murdered in Michigan, March 2024. Suspect: Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a previously deported illegal immigrant.

  • Larisha Sharrell Thompson (40): Fatally shot in South Carolina, May 2025. Six undocumented immigrants, including minors, charged.

  • Jocelyn Nungaray (12): Assaulted and murdered in Houston, June 2023. Two illegal immigrants charged.

  • Melissa (47) and Riordan Powell (16): A mother and son killed in Colorado, December 2023. Jose Menjivar-Alas, an illegal immigrant.

  • Maria Rios (57): Murdered in Texas, February 2023. Suspect: Carlos Lara-Balcazar, an illegal immigrant.

These were intentional murders committed by dangerous, unvetted individuals who were allowed into our country under Democratic Immigration policies.

The Democratic Party has allowed millions of individuals to enter the United States without any formal requirements or processing—and American blood has paid the price.

Immigration with Integrity: Republican Viewpoints

Yes, legal immigration should be easier.

Yes, immigration is essential to the prosperity of the United States.

But Democratic immigration policies have opened the floodgates—placing politics above public safety.

Over 10 million people entered this country under Biden’s watch—without vetting, without medical exams, without background checks.

Not to mention, during Covid, American citizens lost jobs, faced mandates, and were punished for noncompliance—while illegal entry required nothing.

This isn’t compassion. It’s negligence. And it's costing innocent Americans their lives and tax dollars.

Modern Republicans believe in advancing immigration accountability and systematic protections.

We believe in lawful, secure, and merit-based immigration.
